Sacraments
The seven sacraments — Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Communion, Reconciliation, Marriage, Holy Orders and the Anointing of the Sick — are the life of the Catholic Church. Each sacrament is an outward sign of an inward grace.

Weddings
Weddings are arranged by personal contact. Please contact the Cathedral Office on 01604 714556 well in advance as there are important civil and church preliminary requirements regarding marriage. St. Aidan's has no formal choir or bells, but the services of an organist and soloist are available.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession)
The Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) is available before weekday Masses at St Aidan’s, as well as at other times at the Cathedral and the other parishes in the Cathedral Hub.

The Sacrament of the Sick
The Sacrament of the Sick is celebrated in the community regularly and is arranged by the SVP. The priest is always available in emergency: please contact the Cathedral clergy on 01604 714556.

Baptism
The celebration of this sacrament is by appointment. Please contact the parish office on 01604 714556 for further information.

First Holy Communion
First Holy Communion is celebrated each year in the parish. All children who are 8+ years of age and regularly attend Sunday Mass can enrol for the parish preparation sessions. Please contact the parish office on 01604 714556 or parish.cathedralhub@northamptondiocese.org for more information.

Confirmation
Confirmation is celebrated regularly in the parish. If you are an adult there is a special programme of preparation leading to the celebration of this sacrament at the Easter Vigil. For young people of 12+ years a suitable programme is provided with the parish sacramental team which leads to the celebration of the sacrament by Bishop David Oakley. Please contact the Cathedral on 01604 714556 or parish.cathedralhub@northamptondiocese.org for more information.
